Can I wear knee-high boots in fall? ›

Every fall, this shoe style is spotted on celebrities and off the runway, bringing an extra sense of coziness to our outfits. Knee-high boots have been a perennial cold weather go-to due to their natural functionality and elegance.

Try wearing heeled knee-high boots under a midi dress in the daytime, or style a pair of flat knee-highs with a mini dress for a sophisticated evening look. Black knee-high boots will go with most outfits, while brown styles generally work best with more casual getups.

Jeans- Possibly the most versatile of all, jeans can be both dressed up and dressed down, with many different styles, cuts, and colours to choose from. Probably the most common jeans to wear with knee high boots are skinny jeans as they're easy to tuck into the boot without causing them to misshape.

First, you can start wearing them whenever you want but if you are going to perfect months to start wearing over-the-knee-high boots then it can vary by where you live, in most areas October to March are the perfect months for wearing knee-high boots.

Technically, you can wear them during any season, but the two seasons that warrant their use the most are spring and fall. The in-between, mild temperatures don't really require winter boots, but they're too cold for summer sandals and maybe even flats.

The best way to avoid looking like you are a woman of the night is to go for contrast (otherwise known as not being too obvious) & not show everything off at once. Over-the-knee boots are all about legs, which means your outfit shouldn't also be geared to showing off your midriff or cleavage.

As a general rule, try to make sure your boots hug the calves snugly but not too tightly. Obviously, if the boots are too tight, they will rub and be uncomfortable to wear. But if they are too loose, you will end up with a lot of gaping at the back that will feel and look more like a wellington boot.

If you like to wear knee-high boots then age doesn't matter at all. Just wear them as you want and when you want. I still wear them with short folded jeans or sometimes skinny jeans.

For knee-high boots, I always size up. My biggest tip for everyone who has thicker calves is to size up so that the shaft will have a better fit on your legs. Also, when the boots don't have a zipper, it's easier to put them on when they're at least one size up.
